Important to Know

Kettle Moraine Finnatics Objectives:

  • To facilitate education and improve ice fishing skills for future generations
  • To encourage conservation and the wise use of our recreational resources
  • To share outdoor experiences and enjoy the fellowship of students with an interest in ice fishing

Some things to know about joining the team

  • To join the team the student must be in 6th through 12th grade but does not need to attend the Kettle Moraine School District.  We have students that attend neighboring districts such as Arrowhead, Oconomowoc, Muskego, etc. which is a wonderful way for students with the same interests to meet kids outside of their own district.
  • The cost is $20 to join the team. To keep this a low cost sport, team members will be required to participate in a fundraiser by selling $100 worth of raffle tickets. The fee can be mailed to Jeff Klamik, 315 Still Water Court, Dousman, WI 53118 OR Venmo Bruce Moore @Bruce-Moore-54
  • The season can start as early as January 2nd and goes through the state tournament which is usually scheduled for the middle of February.
  • If you are planning to attend an outing, your student is expected to sign up for each outing they plan to attend using the sign up link for the appropriate tournament.  This allows the coaches to determine how many team members and parents we will have in attendance to ensure we have enough bait and food provided.
  • We cannot guarantee that your student will be able to participate in the state tournament, however, we do our best to make accommodations to allow as many students as we can to go to state.  The state team will be determined by those who participate in the outings that are scheduled throughout the season and the students grade level.
  • Our coaches are there to help students during the tournaments, however, these events can be very fast paced, we may not have the capacity to spend one on one time all day with each student and we expect our more experienced team members to also help new anglers during the outings.
